Noble Creek, definitely better than Prado or Madera staging!
With all the resources being demoed, and a planned PSPS, any word on holding OES resources for the next few days in South ops?
Yes OES and Cal Fire strike teams getting demobed are being held in Staging, not sure about LG.
Many OES/LG ST’s were demobbed this am. After a couple hours on the road, they turned them around to stage in Riverside for the upcoming wind event.
On the aviation side, the assets propositioned for this next wind event is nothing less than extraordinary on an interagency basis in southern California,
12 LATs
2 VLATS
8 MAFFS
8 S2s
8 CL -415s
30+ Helicopters
5 Leadplanes/ASMs
I know LACO has the 2 Scoopers, where did the others come from, and any idea where they’re staging?
LACO has two more
241 & 247 from Canada
Four more based at Santa Maria
284 - 285 came from Montana.
262 - 263 came from Spokane, WA
Has to be the largest collection of air assets assigned in January I’ve ever heard of.
Consider it an omen of things to come.
Having a dispersed year-round fleet ready will probably be standard in the next year or two. … ok, maybe in the next four or five years, given the lag time between real-world events and actual operational response to said events.
SoCal (CSR) keeps Hemet & Ramona Staffed year round with
1AA
2AT
Plus the Helicopters at Prado, Hemet, and San Diego.
This is all well and good……but not one of those resources are going to be able to fly in the winds we are expecting.
But they will already be there the moment that they are able to.
