2026 Move/Up Thread.

This agency doesn’t have as much experience in the timber as the GOW but theres a blend of overhead who’ve combined green socks with red engines!

The fellas are in good hands, I’m not along for the ride but I’m stoked it’s happening.

I was at Parkhill Station when 3475 got banged out to Yellowstone. I was a FF1 on board, packed and ready until SOOPS said bounce 3rd FF for 2nd operator. My first year or 2nd year so🤷‍♂️
And 3475 was an International turbo diesel in 87-88 when I was there. Absolutely hauled ass!
When they came back, there were stickers on the rear windows from each state they passed through you’d get at gas stations back then.
IIRR, Cap (Shout out to LW) took a write up over removing the stickers. They came off during maintenance.

That’s a great remembrance there bootstrap. Too bad you missed out on that out-of-state assignment. Thanks for sharing more of the backstory—beautiful!

Total lifetime dream crusher to miss the first ever out of state assignment. Required the governor’s personal approval, no autopen.

Call me out if wrong on first ever.

Lots of other super cool experiences to be thankful for. ICT7, IMT2, Columbia Shuttle Recovery Texas, hanging with Aussies in Montana fires, and end of career beating earth into submission with 7 man BNL2 during Dixie.

Who took the photo? No camera phones in 1988. Fire shelter is mounted horizontally, something that might have helped the guys on the Dude Fire in 1990.
