CalFire’s new T117 (C130) has been out flying around. New member of the fleet this year?
Is 912 on a state contract or Fed? MCC doesnt have a Federal component as far as I know.
T912 is on a fed contract and currently at SBD.
I believe all 10 tanker aircraft are on CWN. T910 presently at MCC and waa reloading and going to NV fire from MCC
It looks like Cal Fire is not having their S2s at their regular tanker bases as in years prior. Does anybody know if they have a new formula for aircraft assignment? Are they going to be operating the way the copters are being deployed?
Is Romona open for full business now? Looked like the S-2 and C-130 were both going there to reload for the Range fire today.
Yes. Fully open now. Tanker 122 is now stationed there.
Glad to see 117 here in Plymouth for the Landrum fire. No good photos since I was busy implementing our bug out plan. Thankfully, didn’t have to leave. Blessed with no wind and plenty of resources.
Fyi..
It appears there seems to be confusion on dispatchers part at times from Air Attack on ordering up. The summit Air Attack requested three closest tankers any type he got one S2, one lat out of sbd, and a hela-tanker. That’s not what he wanted! He was requesting fixed wing not copters
Is anybody know what’s up with tanker 162 flying The Summit incident? It is flying all kinds of weird patterns I heard something about a type 1 trainee maybe he’s having some issues? It’s doing numerous circles just north of fox field
They might have already been in the air and were waiting for the dispatch?
They were 1 of the initial 2. I’m thinking they had a mechanical issue they were trying to work out.
Affirm. They have been placed out of service.
It appears MAFFS 2 & 5 from Colorado have landed at SBD.
