The Status Page is back up (without UN/PW prompt)
I find it interesting, and it seems to follow the idea of a split that is less than amicable, that there is no notice on alertwildfire.org’s main page as to why a huge group of cameras (Shasta-Modoc region, where I live) no longer show or that there was another site to go to see them. In addition, I cannot find any mention of it in their help area, on their timeline, or a link to alertca.live in there related links sections . I had to come on here and look through a lot of matches for a search of alertwildfire until I found this thread. This certainly is not the best way to handle something if you have first responders and the public’s interest as priority #1.
Is there any way to contact AlertCA regarding Miami 1 & 2? They were removed to accommodate a new Verizon tower. Just wondering if they will return. thanx
Requires first responder login access.
Yes, They will return.
thanx for the information
FYI,
Got word that Hpwren is installing a new PTZ camera at Ramona AAB.
Any further word on the PTZ (hpwren) at Ramona AAB?

Thanks, I hadn’t realized it was a separate page.
Picture Perfect!

Just wanted to share someplace
Working on a project with AlertWildfire cams and fire/smoke detection in ATAK. The cameras turn red if they see fire/smoke. I clicked on this one wondering what I might see. A refinery with a flare in progress. It’s nice to see the model is working!
Thanks AJ, this is a very important component as AI detection of smoke anomaly becomes mainstream.
I hope they also but some adsb receivers on there and feed adsb exchange.
The system has expanded, yet again.

[Private citizens and other interested parties can contact these agencies and sites for requests to block out portions of camera feeds that look into backyards, sensitive properties, etc. This is fairly common in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI).]
Curious about cam maintenance…
Is there an annual maintenance cycle for cleaning, or does some of that fall back on the locals to deal?
Totally get how the network has become quite the beast to manage/maintain.
Cheers.
