Northern part of the fire is approaching the On It Creek and Scott Creek confluence, moving towards Round Mountain.

Not a good sign. A lot of retired knowledge in the Unit. Might be the time to make some calls and pick some old fire experience and knowledge. That would be on both sides of the isle both Red and Green. A few were on the Omo Ranch fire back in the day.

Not a good situation. Bad spot for a fire, no ground access, prepositioned assets down south and at the beginning of an extended period of elevated fire weather.

Looking at the live video, you can see it has a ton of ground to eat up and that behavior is pretty extreme.

Staging on Farnham ridge which has a big ranch there. but this is all super thick with brush down to Cedar Creek and up to Omo Ranch road. The evac area is JSO the edge of the Caldor footprint at Slug Gulch.

My usual phrase is, “You had better pack a sandwich, you’re gonna be there awhile.”
And it sure looks that way.
I was wondering why the smoke is so dark with no structures back there, but it looks like what I’m seeing is shadowing from the collum above.

From my house in Cameron Park, smoke is dark. Heavy fuels up there. The tankers from McClellan flying directly over house on there return route
