Another fire reported near Morris Dam, AA advising a couple acres RROS.
AA advising one of the fires is 10-15 acres, unknown on the other. Intel aircraft are already en-route for mapping.
Hopefully air assets will be able get in there with inversion layer and I’d assume it’s almost time for the wind to start for that area?
Tanker -107 (LAT) over the fire now with a couple
Copters.
AA ordered 2 additional Tankers for a total of 4.
appears inversion still settled over the area, smoke settling in canyons
2020 Ranch2 fire burned the canyon on the west side of the 39, not much on the east side lately though
looks like it just punched thru inversion
What is the most recent fire history, seams like maybe fairly recent…does not look like it’s ripping…High RH maybe…
IC ordered 2 Type 3 Strike teams to report to ICP by 18:00
Just by looking at Flight Radar and Cal Topo it appears to be boxed in by the Ranch and Bobcat scars.
It appears to be in the ranch scar per the heat signature on sar topo
It’s in the Reservoir Fire scar from June 2016. The Ranch 2 scar is further down the road nestled between both burn scars of the Reservior and Fish Fires which later was named the San Gabriel Complex.
It’s surrounded by the 2020 Bobcat, ranch 2, Dam fire and started in the unburned area then moved into the reservoir fire scar.
Did something change with this fire? -or-
Is the ANF pre-positioning crews for this weather event?
I ask these because San Luis Obispo County is sending out a mixed Type 3 strike team for the ANF right now.
San Luis County is not sending a strike team
They were. They canceled/delayed it.
