2 additional tankers, two copters any type and closest requested. A504 (trainee AA) has been assigned from Paso.
What happened to split channel request. Sheriff keeps over riding fire
Early and a relatively small incident.
If structures burned, that’s very appropriate; not too mention the current fuel conditions and holiday weekend.
Maybe there are different definitions of extended attack.
Here’s one:
Extended Attack Incident
- An incident that exceeds the capability of the initial attack resources and/or organization to successfully manage the incident to conclusion.
This is a subject we should explore further in another thread. I have often cringed when I hear “this will go extended” there is a very distinct definition of extended attack.
Yep because this one is not extended attack but it’s extended mop up. there’s a good chance of a number of blue oaks will flare up in the burn in the next couple of days like the last fire in the area.
I would say the definition is rather vague and up to interpretation. It all depends on what you would consider “augmentation of initial attack resources”. But yes, I think most of us generally have a similar picture in out heads when we hear extended.
Just glad they got a handle on it. Lost the aircraft out of Columbia for awhile. That IA aircraft makes a difference on a lot of our fire in TCU. That can help it from going Extended.
I’m curious as to where the missing load from tanker 137 landed, probably going to hear about some cars and homes in Fresno turning pink😂
Sounds like 137 had a computer malfunction on tank, retardant was never released from aircraft, light system showed tank was empty after take off. Disaster averted. No new paint jobs for vehicles like a couple years ago with a MD-87 tank release.
