CA-LAC-Ridge

If the fire is now well established in LAC and has been declared “going extended,” don’t be surprised if LAC “offers” to take the UOP including aircraft ordering and the lead in UC–it makes the most sense. I know KRN wouldn’t mind it one bit and since they are both Contract Counties, give it to LAC.

This MTZ includes VNC, ANF, LPF, KRN and LAC.

The one thing that everyone knows – the wind is very strong, erratic and recognizes no boundaries.

Will be interesting to see how this fire lasts in spite of burning in barely-2-year-old brush post Post Fire. It’s main head is basically in the Post Fire scar right now.

…And that was placed by and LAC IC and confirmed by the LAC Operations. Then the IC followed up with a logistical order of working on lunches (great foresight since that’ll be dinner) that was confirmed by LAC. So, I would say that LAC has this, regardless of where it started. They are definitely looking at the bigger picture and potential.

Temperatures under the smoke have moderated by a few degrees, but the wind has shifted almost 180 degrees and slightly increased since two hours ago. RH has also slightly increased.

Looks like it was “fast in the grass,” from the Post Fire scar, but the wind changes in the HVRA area and that can really slow it down. Looking at the sheer numbers of resources all those agencies can throw at this fire I don’t see how it can survive the night. Especially with the order for three night capable Helos and a night ATGS.

May not even survive the evening. Cams are looking significantly better. SB 5 about to reopen

Started off “I just kept runnin’ and runnin’” then “I’m tired I think I’ll go home now”

There’s a reason a camera is at this location.
