The building is 500,000 square feet. Most likely has a couple of fire walls. The helicopter is dropping on it again.
Now theres something i hadānt thought about! ![]()
I forgot to mention that inside the building the frozen food is stacked upwards of 50 feet high on racks.
One of the first fires I worked on when I went to work for a department in the Bay Area was a meat storage facility between the cork installation and the rotten meat our equipment smelled bad for years

Per LAFD Chief Inside the warehouse there is zero visibility and 85,000,000 pounds of frozen food. Concerns i are bio hazards and how to remove all the food and dispose of it before it turns to a hazard on its own. And access the fire still smoldering inside.
Noticed XVE15551TF was assigned last night.
what are they? im an LAFD ff and went 2 days ago. pumped for 6 hours at max capacity!
Based on the identifier i believe it is a mixed agency ventura county type 6 strike team
I believe it would be a Ventura County Task Force from different agencies
It was 2 engines from Oxnard, 1 engine from Ventura City, and a ladder truck from VNC.
I just found this picture of 1 aisle in the cold storage unit.
Houston/Rampart, we have Knockdown!
Oh boy what a mess..
I bet every domestic and wild animal with ten miles wants into that messā¦Can you imagine the amount of Rodents that are going to be in that!!!
Oh my goodness..
I
had not
thought about
that!
Gonna need to get strike teams of the Orkin Pest Control.. Immediate need!! ![]()
What I donāt understand is why there is not a bunch of excavators(with a thumb), front end loaders and dump trucks tearing into this and hauling it away. When you hit a hot spot put the Deck Gun on it. Chip, mulch or sawdust piles we work it with equipment to find the hot spot and put it out.
