No good representative RAWS near the fire(s) so best to peek at two that are close’ish to get an idea of on scene Wx.. Ladder Bute is the closer of the two.

Edit: Fire is/was west of Bob Creek. Afternoon winds are no joke out there. #Giddy Up!

4 things come to front of my mind regarding fires out here. 1-Its the land of floating lava rocks (when wet). Flat/flatish ground fires ought to scare you a little. 3 - cant see the forest thru the trees! 4 - many emergency vehicle tires have met their demise by lava rocks in this country!

Lava rocks for days! The Hat Creek District of the Lassen NF is where boots go to die.

Exactly, my two sons were on a type 3 ST assignment in the Canby area with the USFS and had on fairly new White Smoke Jumper boots, when they got home after a 14 day run they looked like 3-4 year old boots!!!

Did some ankle checks in the flow, pitching bowling ball rocks to get to smokes 3 feet down. It’s no joke.

Hence why the Dozer out of Devils Garden is larger for the lava rocks.

Holding at 800 acres hasn’t crossed the river

(Stills good amount of smoke leaning over the head so wondering if he’s referring to retardant lines or something along those lines)

Helco says no significant growth.
