There is a huge difference in the fuel models comparing the cities of Paradise and Susanville. In a lot of areas on the west side of town once the fire hits the city limits the only fuel that will be available are structures (although there are hundreds of structures just within and outside the limits that this doesn’t apply to). Whereas in Paradise there was a lot of timber within the city and a different brush and needlecast component that the city of Susanville just doesn’t have.
I wasn’t referring to the fuel load but more of the home loss on the west side with all the older homes. Not to mention how a high majority of them are owned or lived in by low income households. It would devastate that part of town.
Hopefully it doesn’t play out like that. Also, Paradise was a rapid event, at least if the fire gets to Susanville, there will be sufficient resources on hand.
Agreed. Susanville doesn’t have the evacuation problems or fuel loading around structures that Paradise did. Still a concern, but not like Paradise.
Anyone have a link to the Box account for the incident?
They do not have a completed one online yet. The team is just prepping the docs now, either for this shift or next shift.
SIFC phone lines and internet out of service. Unsure if related to fire.
Internet and phones lines run down Hwy 44. Most likely the problem.
LMUD powerlines run over Fredonyer Pass on north side of Highway 36.
Related, they were worried about the fire eventually impacting repeaters on Roop Mtn yesterday.
I have a scanner established on command, tac and A/G. Application is in for a feed on Broadcastify. Is there anywhere else to upload feed now?
**Feed is not up yet, waiting on Broadcastify to approve the request. Once approved I’ll get the feed up.
Scanner radio app for Android usually is pretty fast.
Any good camera? Seems to have moved away from the ones used earlier.
Hamilton Mountain, but they don’t have it pointed at the fire currently.

What are you calling your scanner feed?
Wow! That looks ugly!
