CA-LPF-Mill??

I’m not sure but thought they were a short/fuels team? I could be mistaken

From South Ops:
IMT2 SoCal Team 15 (Gamboa) activated to CA-LPF-001678, in brief to Monterey District Office on 08/01 @ 1000

Thank you. For the info

Team 15…the central coast type 2 team is ordered

From my place, it has gotten very quiet. No smoke visible, no planes flying, and we are ready to let our collected breaths out over here. Looks like we turned the corner on this. Ordering up a team must have done it.

7:10 pm — It has been relatively quiet all afternoon, but a local, and Cal Fire ff came through here and she told me there were some roll outs which are a bit worrisome. No plumes this afternoon, and no visible smoke for several hours. Getting some drift now.

And conditions are good. Fog is back at 1500-2000’ no winds, cooler temps than yesterday. So Mother Nature is playing nice.

Was back near division Xray this afternoon (right around Naciemento road). Looked like there was a bit of torching up on division Mike towards the end of the day- enough to send up a moderate plume, but it got tamped down pretty quick once it was in the shade. The entire time I was up there, there were a few helo’s out of liggett doing quick drops on the few hotspots that were remaining. As long as the night time plays nice this should be close to buttoned up.

This is my favorite photo to come from the Mill Fire, taken by my friend Michael Troutman. Know these 3?

That’s Rio Bravo, from Kern County.

Does anybody know if Team 15 inbriefed? Or did they cancel? Or just wait to see?

From what I was told, The team is on a holding pattern in king city.

Just curious, why is a 310 acre fire with one engine and 98% for the last 10 days with a whopping 5.1M spent still showing up on the Nat’l Sit. Guessing their still turning in 209s. But 5.1M, that’s a whopping $16, 500 per acre, some big bucks per acre. Somebody needs to check their #s, that doesn’t look good.

Extremely steep and rugged terrain along with the logistical nightmare of being on the big sur coast for one. also every drainage burned super ratty requiring it to have a large air presence for crew safety. other weird things like having 3 different caterers in a few days because of having to go national when it really wasn’t needed

good stop everyone…

Thanks for the info, those #s just raised some eyebrows. Bet the Nat’l Caterer lost $ on that one, just from mob costs. But there was nothing else going on.
