CA-MVU-Border 27???

good question…maybe for a new topic…is there a way to track or identify a drone…maybe need for legislation to be able to track drones (maybe impossible due to many reasons)…???

ps…like your posts…very good insight

They lit many diversion fires in 96/97. Had several North Hwy 94, but most where South of the Hwy.

I’m nearly certain the Border Patrol has drone tracking technology. Whether or not the data could be quickly shared with local agencies is the question.

I wonder if this is a case for Occam’s razor - maybe it was just an off-road vehicle with a catalytic converter problem.

100 acres
5% containment
FROS has been stopped

Nice work to all agencies involved. :muscle:t4:

FC3363, I’m not disputing that you say you observed diversion fires in 1996.

Somebody probably on a dirt bike most likely because you aren’t making that on foot in that amount of time. truck trail dead ends near the first fire and they cut down the creek bed until they hit the next dirt road.

Was on several established fires… to burn out ranchers that turned the coyotes in, and diversion fires. Kids also started cross-border fires to see the tankers fly. Otay Fire #322, 1996, was one of the last ones that helped activate the whole Border Agency Fire Council.

Tecate always went in spurts for the kids starting stuff North of the border, always had tankers hold north of 94 until needed!!

Yep, but the new Border wall made those almost stop. One of these fires may bring attention by the US administration when many bodies are burned up in a remote canyon or ridge there.

Thanks, Chief!

Maybe an auto activated RF jammer along the border. Might cause the drones to return to origin, but at least they couldn’t cross.
