SCU doesn’t have a lot left to send right now.
Can we get a better description of where this is in Sunol?
It is several miles south of 680 off of Calaveras Rd
Calaveras at Welch creek road
Sunol Regioal Park
Radio frequencies?
SCU LOCAL 151.44500
With a good marine push tonight, if it’s below the inversion, they’ll catch it. If it’s above, good luck!
The tops are above 3000 ft.
Need to catch it before it runs to mt Hamilton
This appears to be in an local East Bay Park, the Sunol Regional Wilderness, just above the Sunol Vistor Center. Based upon where a trio of S-2’s have been circling. There’s a bunch of trails and backpaking campsites around there. Also smack dab in the flight path of planes landing at SFO.
Much cooler here tomorrow
With that you get a good westerly push moving this fire into the Hamilton range
Good idea to try and wrap it up
If it runs south in the Alameda Creek drainage towards lick Observatory, it could make a lot of big runs like it did in 2020.
This should probably go to the QA thread, but nope, SFO. I’ve sat up there and watched them myself and flightradar24 will confirm. When you on top of the hills they come in pretty low. It’s the light blue path here:
The patch of water before it hits the bay is the Calaveras Reservoir. Helicopters were dipping out if it today. The planes actually fly a little north of the reservoir. There’s a big visual marker and FAA transmitters up there. Inbound OAK is north of there.

T-104 diverted from Park fire to Creek. Tanker needed to be T1 IA rated. Coming oit of Redding
So both tankers are going to pass each other? Seems the Redding tanker should be going right next door to the Park.
Looking good at the moment. Fingers crossed, nice stop! Karl the Fog came by last night and gave us his help.
