CA-SDU-Border 6???

100 acres in the Marron Valley Rd area in Dulzura. The fire started in Mexico last night, it backed into the Tijuana River during the night and is now running upslope on the US side. Last I checked AA and 2 Tankers are working the fire. There is smoke showing but the camera is not pointed at the fire.

Here is the Cam, but not looking at the fire currently…https://ops.alertcalifornia.org/cam-console/2232

Activity has increased some, the fire is still inside their box.

AA-330 Requested 1 Lead Plane, 3 Additional (LATS), 1 Additional Type 1 Copter. AA was also offered a VLAT. That makes a total of 5 Tankers.

The camera is back on the fire and it is visibly working its way upslope to the east. IC also added additional water tenders and BC’s.

The fire is close to 300 acres and has a RROS now per the IC. Making a good push on the camera.

AA-310 has ordered 2 additional LAT’s, he also requested 912 back to the fire. The priority is now to keep it south of HWY 94 and away from Dulzura proper. The fire is outside the initial containment objectives.

350 acres now. That’s definitely a bigger box but really the only place to check it up at this point.

Very nasty and rugged country, limited dozer access

Area is loaded with Mexican Red Diamondbacks. From past experience working fire roads down there, these snakes are more aggressive than others.

Whats a mexican red diamondback? Snake?

Why is it bold? I dont understand the significance of this? Can we elaborate on posts?

From my experience in the area…they are just a different breed of Rattle snake. They are a reddish color with big fat heads. Nothing necessarily significant about them. There are Rattle snakes all over every fire down here. Not sure why he yelled at us Lol.

And back to the fire…All evacuation warnings have been lifted and I didn’t see any smoke off the fire all day. It appears they did a great job overnight when the Marine layer rolled in.

Red diamond rattlesnake
It’s definitely not a Mexican snake, all over coastal Southern California
