One of the MODIS birds just flew over at 221pm and we got some updates. Some good heat on the Zogg Mine Road area of Igo, and good confidence heat down the Clear Creek (the creek itself) drainage between the creek and Cloverdale and appears to be at 4 corners there (cloverdale at clear creek road)

New heat in the Placer Pines subdivision area on Placer Road. And on the north end, heat getting close to the trinity county line way up in what appears to be Sec22, 27 28 (T34N R7W)

That’s leadership. I spent a few weeks doing a fire history survey in Coggins Park just off of County Line Road. It’d be a challenge to hold that Ridge under much less extreme conditions.

Win river casino is in progress of evac. IF the fire blows down Clear Creek. Andersonville, base camp at shasta distric fair grounds is Only about 4 miles south. It just keeps getting more interesting…

The locally known “Arbuckle Winds” are starting to surface in Igo/Ono area. They can get up to 30mph sustained out of the N-NE, blowing S-SW. Heads up.

We’re approaching the time where the whole beast starts to throw its fit. Westerly winds on the west side of fire, south winds on the south side of fire, they will battle it out here soon, and we know the westerly’s will win. For it is written, and prophesied, by IMET.

1600 - fire is getting very active and about to hit 299 hard in sections 6 and 7. This is right in the s curves on lower half going up the grade to Buckhorn. “Section 12 still looking good but fire activity is picking up” S12 is the upper half of the grade to the summit.

edit: trying to avoid play-by-play, but as conditions deteriorate I’ll be posting quicker shorter blips, especially on key pieces of intel.

1630 - abandoning 299 sections 6, 7 and 12 making their way out to Buckhorn Summit. Well established spots over 299 in sections 6, burning N, NE. All FOBS in the area pulling out as well. “quarter to half-mile stretch has fire over 299”

edit: map referencing the Section numbers.

Watching Ch.7 news conference Win-River was evacuated on their own it was not mandatory, they are also saying Shasta Lake City IS NOT UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION the fire has not got into the Montgomery Ranch Honey Bee Rd. area also Haven Humane did not evacuate they are still there taking care of and receiving animals.

Shasta Lake City IS NOT UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION

What they said at the press conference is basically that it was accidentally included in the mandatory evacuation order and they left it in, but they are not actively conduction evacuations there (except for Summit City). So, technically it is under a mandatory evacuation, just not one being enforced right now. They will put it out electronically and door to door if they decide to enforce it. This has been a huge source of confusion.

Source: I just watched the press conference.

From shasta dam: could not see any fire down canyon, visibility was approximately 1 mile.

Lewiston/trinity dam blvd area evacuations seem to be in effect now.

I think there is a lot of confusion with so much going on and businesses closing or evacuating on there own and it getting back to the news or on Facebook is confusing a lot of people.
