A firing operation in the flats near Hwy 46 is being conducted. The goal is to tie it into the retardant and should button up the forward spread of the fire.
CHP is closing hwy 46 for the fire.
Fire is spotting in the flats, picking them up with engines and aircraft.
looks like the fire has just about reached hwy 46, the spot fires pushed over the planned firing lines.
IC ordering 3 type 3 engines, 2 water tenders.

AA is starting to release tankers.
Tanker 76 and 78 released back to Porterville.
IC calling forward progress stopped.
50% Contained. Eastbound 46 open. Westbound 1 lane will be opening shortly.
Heard AA give IC acreage of 2,500.
The cuz and I just snapped photos of the remaining flames…looks like it’s out now. East and West traffic is still going through Shandon.
