Another spot has been in the cascadel and whiskey ridge area.
This fire getting way out of hand with the long range spots. That’s miles from the main fire.
This is from family who was being Eva’ed a bit ago. Taken from the lake. Sitting in heavy traffic on way out…
If it’s spotting into Cascadel that is roughly 10 miles from Big Creek as the crow flies.
AA requested 2 type 1 tankers and Lead plane. Clean air on east flank.

Looks like probably 2015 Willow Fire then. Very close to Cascadel. Same with 2001 North Fork Fire. Both would have been just north of Cascadel on the western aspect of Whisky Ridge (which would likely be why you remember Peckinpah ) and into South Bass Lake area.
AA states critical rates of spread northerly up the San Joaqiun River drainage. No stopping it.
Any suppression resources to the north along with people need to be evacuated. Including the north east flank. He’s not entirely sure of the landmarks to help out where the perimeter is.

Mammoth Pools and Wagner store area now in the evacuation zone.
There are reports of the fire already in Wagner campground near Mammoth Pools, per the IC or Ops via a phone call her received.
He stated “fire already on the ground”.
Is a long ways from where I thought the bulk of the fire was.

SNF is ordering 2 LEO helicopters with PA’s to get out in front of the fire and start doing advisements to get people out.
CHP H-40 and FSO Eagle 1 are assigned to the incident.
