7am MMU facebook page update: Size: 94,331 acres; Containment: 43%.

The Ferguson Fire grew by 2,829 acres throughout the day yesterday and is at 94,331 acres. Containment is at 43 percent. Increase in containment reflects the progress firefighters are making towards meeting the objective of fully suppressing the fire. Highway 140 is open from El Portal to Yosemite National Park boundary. Highway 120 is slated to open at 12 PM today; travelers are advised to watch for debris on the road.

per south ops, 8/7 1900 hrs: 94,992 acres (+ 661 acres); 43% contained (no change for day).

AA requested 4 LAT tankers to Yosemite (east) side of fire.

New fire (STF or TCU-Moore) broke north of TFR and column is building.

2 of the first inbound Tankers will be diverted to new start, along with two type 1
rotors off Mariposa heliport.

AA states the “Moore” fire forward progress stopped and 2 Tankers and 2 Rotor diversions will be returning to fire and support Div.G.

AA stating that inversion is obscuring fire line and ending the Tanker show.

New fire MMU Raymond area is diverting 2 Tankers to this new start.

It cleared up and tanker show is back on for Div. G Foresta/Merced Rvr area.
AA requested two additional type 2 rotors off Mariposa Helibase.

Great progress today! It isn’t over till its over, but for perspective - the 94,992 acres reported above is +0 acres from end of day yesterday; and the 68% containment is +25% from yesterday. Hang in there and stay safe every body!

Not much air traffic today…until now:
AA requested 2 rotor wings to report to Branch 3 for a large hot spot within 100’ of line putting up a good column. AA also talking with ground units to respond personnel to support the copters.

Last night had a burn operation go down. Winds were definitely in favor. Everything worked out. The operation was east of Yosemite west on the west side of 41 North of glacier point rd. Everything is coming to a close on this fire.
