AA reports the fire is 3 acres with retardant across the head, engines are still 3.5 miles away from the fire on 3N11 but cannot continue further. AA recommends utilizing dozers to open up the road so engines can access, and that will take most of the night.
21:00: AA440 off the fire for the night. 4 acres and still holding.

Update 6/21/20 @ 0741
The Quarter Fire held on the North side of the river overnight. An IR flight during the night mapped the fire at approximately 15 acres. Ground resources are still trying to gain access and aircraft will be over the fire at 0930.
Original Post 6/20/20 @ 1154
The Quarter Fire is located in the South fork of the Stanislaus River Canyon, 3 miles upstream of the Lost Dutchman Mining Association property in the Grant Ridge (3N11) area. The fire is estimated at 3-5 acres on the North side of river with difficult access in steep, rugged terrain. There are currently 15 engines, 4 Handcrews, 6 Water Tenders, 3 Fire Dozers, and numerous overhead making their way into the fire. Orders for more resources will be filled throughout the night and tomorrow. Aviation resources will resume operations in the morning as well. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
We ask that the public please stay out of the fire area. TCSO has advised homeowners in the area of a Evacuation Advisory. Thank you to everyone for your corporation at this time.

Looks like the sun on it and starting to warm things up. IDK if they can get aircraft on this or not with the smoke laying in the canyon for now. MT. Elizabeth right above the fire has temp at 65 and RH at 44%. It won’t be long before the wind switch and the heating will bring things up canyon again. Hope they are able to get on this today hard, lots of room for this to run.

I live right down the road from this area and it’s one that I worry about a lot. We play and recreate back there and this could go fast if given the chance. I was up above this area yesterday and I was surprised to see what looked like some new bark beetle kill trees too. We have an excessive heat warning in effect right now as well

Tanker 88 &89 released back to North Ops. Tanker 82 & 83 on a load and hold at Columbia AAB. AA15 returning to Fresno, with no AA relief.
AA 1AA is currently over the incident

Releasing all Tankers for tomorrow. Keeping Copter 160 committed for tomorrow’s day shift. Still no personnel on the fires edge. Possibly get crews on the perimeter tonight. Retardant around the fire and seeming to hold per AA so far.
