Fires 166 acres. Started in an old burn we had three years ago Stockton rd and HWY-108. Ripped like crazy and spotted all over the place on the light fuels and snags. Jumped Stockton Rd and made a hard push to south side of Sonora City. Some of the pics are from my house others up on a hill. Fire in the grass oak woodland burned well. We got lucky the heavy fuel below my house and the little spur ridge held the fire up in the brush. Wind was our friend and they pound the crap out of it from the air. Lots of Houses on all four sides of the fire so .Make this fire a nightmare for Laying hose for perimeter control. Saw heavy black smoke but not sure if it was a structure or what. A lot of Dozer and handline to be cut in some very thick brush you can see from the tower. Looking a lot better as I am typing this. This fire was right in between Sonora City and Jamestown. A shout out to AA he did a great job right off the get go and the first in IC double the order for ground units.
Mine shafts are in issue in this area too.

WD reporting 222.9 acres. Fires looking pretty good. Looks like night ops is in place for the ships.
Only fix wing flying is AA. Six Copters(Ships) are making drops. Be a little noisy tonight at the house with the copters but that’s a good thing. Last post unless something crazy happens.

I’m hearing he had several years of fire fighting experience . Being a FF and intentionally setting fires is not good. Not only the fire fighting personnel he put at risk. But the civilian population too.
Side Note…Don’t have to worry about being picked for Jury Duty for this one.

If you zoom in to the incident on Watchduty you can see the perimeter overlaid on a map, it’s probably quite accurate on a stable incident like this one.
