New start just east of Sonora…
TCU 6-5 requesting 2 more dozers. 2 more crews. 5 more engines.
That’s mile east of my casa. Looks to be 1/4 acre acre. Last time that area burned was in the 60’s from what an Old HFEO said. This fire in heavy brush and 1/4 acre for now. Walk in show 1/2 to 1mi. We have IA engines from BEU. Fires getting well established watching from the house..Fires on Blad MTB just North Northeast of Sonora City.
Again I have a lot of pics but cant get any of them to load on this site. Never had this problem before.
2-8: West of Copperopolis, Air attack asking for 4 additional tankers, 1 additional copter, no acreage report
That fires in the Red Hills. Has a micro climate all it’s own. You can get rain and it will still spot.
This is in brush and Digger Pine(Gray Pine). Maybe some grass. Super shallow soils so things dry out fast. IC ask the ECC to get permission from BLM to use a dozer on this. We have had many fires in the Red Hills and all are a pain in the ass. Just hot and dry counrty.
The Unit is extremely busy right now in the Air and ground. Praying for all to be safe today.
I think it was 2-7? Ground resources saying “I need air resources now, structure threat”
2-7 , east of Angels Camp, near Vallacito Camp, threat to structures and Highway 4.
Air attack requesting additional type 1 tanker and helicopters
2-7 100 acres. Asking for resources and structures threatened. Asking for all dozers available.
Things are starting to build in the southern Sierra. If it plays out resources will become more scarce and a lot of competition, both ground and air. Go8ng to be an interesting afternoon and evening.
Chief 4400 just got in local. Responding to the 2-7. Placing a significant resource order. Highest potential for structure threat and growth.
Start 10 additional Type 3’s Code 3.
Chief 4400 assuming command.
Hired Dozer and two engines off the 2-3 fire responding to the 2-7.
Additionally:
Two significant fires on the west shore of Don Pedro:
6-5 - 200 acres, DROS, threatening Hwy 120, ordering 2 ST type 3 engines, plus additional resources to Hwy 120.
6-2 - South of 6-5, building on the camera but no reports of acreage yet.
STF has three active fires, Cedar, Starr and McCormick
If they get lucky the one will burn into the lake and not spot over it.
100 degree at my house in Sonora. That fire in the hottest spot in the county.
Also Chief 4400 request 10 additional engines code three to 2-7 fire.
6-5 Fire.
Making a Hard push. 200 Acres.
2 Charlie’s Immediate Need.
2-8 AA requesting a relief AA. At 1430. Expecting it continue.
Opened a distinct thread for the 2-7 so that it doesn’t get lost in this particular one
6-5 IC asking for S.O for Evacuations
2-8 IC B4404 Requesting.
2 Golf’s
2 Charlie’s
2 Additional Dozers, most like ABH as agency ones are running thin.
