BTU sent a strike team to a new start in TGU “east of Red Bluff.” Any further info on location, acreage and incident name?
From CA Fire Scanner:
AA240 overhead of 3 fires N/E of Red Bluff. Largest fire is 50 acres & another fire is 30 acres, currently holding in the creek bed but have strong north winds on them. Potential 200 acres if held @ creek, potential for 300-500 acres if it jumps it. Unsure of fire name.
The fires N/E of Red Bluff are being called the Sun Fire - AA requesting 2 additional LATs + an addl type 2 copter w/ crew. Fire may have jumped the creek, starting evac warnings in the area.
North Ops advising only one LAT available. Offering up 1 LAT and 2 S 2’s.
Per Cal Fire: Firefighters are battling a 80 acre fire off Hwy 36 and Sunriver Drive, east of Red Bluff (Tehama County).
Per AA Fire is 250 acres, Fire has jumped a creek they where attempting to hold it at and is now running south. Structures will likely be threatened soon.
