Thing looks exactly like the Canyon Fire that was in that exact area that burned almost exactly a year ago.

This is -literally- unforgiving terrain. I was in that canyon when I firefighter fell down a cliff and perished there, in 1999. Be careful out there, it’s just vegetation.

Fire guard puts the fire south of the lake, east of the creek approx 1.5 miles from LA/VNC line moving ENE with nothing but SRA and some LAC LRA miles away. Just on the west line of the canyon scar.

Fires on the east side of Lake Piru are usually 1 and done unless it has Santa Ana winds on it, too early in the season for that.

North side of the fire is being held up in a cliff area that’s inaccessible, air show only at this point.
