EV Firefighting

That is IF you can get reliable source of power to charge your EV with brown outs and power lines down due to external conditions.
When you consider extra power consumption using A/C in summer or electric heat in the winter.
Electric power requirements will go up, and we can’t supply enough now without all the EV equipment.

Points to consider.

Don’t forget the new electrified construction equipment that will have huge requirements to charge when building new developments with services not yet in. Generators anyone, kinda like Harris Ranch charging station.

Again… I go back to the horse analogy… I bet it seemed crazy to people when the Model A came out. As humans we don’t endeavor to do hard things because we have to… we do them because we want to.

I agree, but at least fuel was not in short supply or subject to being cut off. EV is a good option, but only as option, not a mandate. Hybrid would be great option if cost of battery replacement wasn’t so expensive.

Even hybrids along with EV’s are still a problem when they burn (back to subject), wondering if cool down is the needed way of extinguishing and maybe other ways instead of water ?

I’m wondering if EV pickups/stakesides will be able to serve Ground support as well as ICE vehicles do now. Will an EV be able to carry 1-3 tons of cargo up a steep, curvy mountain road a few times a day and be able to recharge in 15 mins. as a gas/diesel engine can today?
