“You do you” smh :man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming:…..more unbiased weather

Honest question. What does unbiased weather mean? I’m not trying to start an argument I just don’t understand how weather can be biased or unbiased.

He just thinks the folks on here that discuss upcoming meaningful weather forecasts on here are fearmongers’ and dooms day predictors since they give predictions he doesn’t like so he found one that he does like I suppose.

Interesting but not unusual pattern playing out in NOPS. Last night the cloud cover increased and brought a welcome cool down from the modest heat. I topped out at 92 with 28% humidity yesterday.
One interesting note.. I did see dome high level smoke most likely coming in early in the day from the east( Utah). This would indicate the counter clockwise flow around the low. This could also indicate the track of the low. Further west.. more dynamics.. further east and north less so for some of CA.
Models have been wobbling with details but firm with pattern. Solid cloud cover this am. This will inhibit storm development early, but the prime time period seems to be late tonight through tomorrow am. Worth noting a drying and warming trend through the week after Tuesday. Following any lightning… that is always worth watching.
Monsoon flow does look to remain active across SOPS later in the week, and perhaps be quite active all the way to the coast.
For now enjoying the day with the family……………….

@anvilhead
What is the lightning forecast looking like this week for north ops? Always look forward to your reports.

There is forced mid level ascent and initial theta moisture surge so the chance of thunderstorms predominantly east of the Sierra looks good. I think there’s enough of a tele-connection to deeper moisture source that most of the thunderstorms will be predominantly wet in nature.

And as per usual, lightning in timber can always hold over even with wetting rain. I still think around the 29th should bring about some very interesting weather to the entire state. I also contemplate about an extended summer pattern into October that could produce lightning in October due to the El Niño pattern developing.

Can look at it as if this is kind of a late start to the monsoon, but an extended monsoon pattern possible.

Thus proving once again that hope is not a plan - i had hoped you wouldn’t say that! :flushed_face:
I find your contemplations regarding the future… disturbing! :nerd_face:

Really is quite a surge of monsoon pump creeping this way. Already wondering how far north and west will it migrate by tomorrow!

Also wondering if & how much & how long we’ll get mostly clear to clear skies before the real show begins! It got hotter by 5 degrees after 1500 here today - imo due to a bit of late afternoon clearing skies. It went from 98 @ 1530 to 103 by 1800 where i am in north rdd. Thankfully its calmed down to 97 now. Might be a sporty one tomorrow.. or not?!

There’s going to be a shortwave moving in around the ridge and with the daytime heating there will be surface based thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon across the southern Cascades. So it looks like it will be pretty clear and convection should initiate. Still would expect a mix of dry and wet thunderstorms. I think, in terms of Shakespeare currently and there’s a couple plays I think we are going to go through soon before more widespread lightning events happen.

So maybe it will be a good week for an umbrella drink or something.

Anvil, what are you seeing in the way of storms for the south half ? Had some loud and long thunder in the north east san diego area , but it seemed the all dau cloud cover kept a lid on things so to say
