If you are not on the Incident what does the IAP tell you? The information was compiled 12 hours before you recieve it. In most cases, especially the first or second operation period, is out of date, incomplete and/or inaccurate. Its not even much good for the folks there, let alone someone not there.
I think a lot of people want the freqs so they can listen. Otherwise I have always wondered this too, even on a fire it’s usually only the 205 and weather, travel maps are ok if they are readable, that’s really useful. 204s change after briefing, maps are old, etc.

I always enjoy reading the IMET/FBAN pages as well as looking for familiar names just to see who’s doing what😂
