In my area (Vacaville) we have a annual rainfall estimate of 12.76". The rain year is 10-1 through 9-30 each year. To date our rainfall total already exceeds the annual estimate and more to come too.

My.brain.hurts. I’ll have to watch it several times to let it soak in. I feel like I just watched a semester lecture at 125% speed. I am sure it is exceptionally informative - just gotta watch it more than once.

I worked a few weeks at Madera Staging during '97 El Niño, '98 flooding. The non stop rain was incredible.

Madera staging lucky you :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: 97 was insane from this child at the times perspective. Lots of water.

Here’s a pretty interesting (and very educational) write-up about the upcoming El Nino by Dr. Daniel Swain. Its very thorough and explains the terminology in-depth, in such a way that a casually interested observer like myself can easily understand.
