Seems like most people don’t know how to handle the dozers in general!

Anyone know if Casey Judd has been involved in any of this with Grassroots? He’s been working at this stuff for over 20 years.

No he has not.

I stopped giving him my money a while ago,
I didn’t think the yearly note pad and cheap China knapsack where worth it.

I actually think social media bringing us all together has done more than he ever could. I thank him for his valiant effort though.

Good. If you’re cover firefighter retirement and it’s shown on your pd, then I would say it’s a very high likelihood you will receive BIL supplemental pay and back pay.

I agree…
I’d like to thank everyone on the Wildland fire social media’s, podcasts and satire instagram sites yall are killin it.
But honestly. You are who bring us together.

Yesterdays announcement was huge. Yes it seemed like it took forever and yes some high level folks had uncomfortable grillings on the Hill, but the product delivered was solid.

I’m so excited to think about how my temps, apprentices and mid level folks can have a little financial breathing room for a minute. Or maybe even auger in fed now. Yesterday I spoke to an ex fed red guy who’s thinking about coming back. Dude is a superstar and this announcement enabled that kind of discussion with him. Huge.

Can’t all be bad news and bad days out there.

Yesterday was an awesome day to be a fed.

Is your Representative on this list? If not, you need to find out WHY!

Cap, I am wondering why we don’t have more supporters for this bill ? Is there some poison pill inserted within ? I have read what appears to be the entire bill with no problems. But sometimes it is what we don’t see that can be the problem.

My Representative is McClintock who has gone on record as saying Firefighting is an unskilled job

On an internal FS page, Randy Moore just wrote:

“This is a short-term measure to get additional pay to firefighters as soon as possible. Now, we can begin working on longer-term solution to address core issues, including, a permanent pay solution, portal-to-portal pay, housing issues and firefighter health”

Let’s make sure we remind him and our representatives daily of these words.

Supplemental pay will be reduced by about 22% US Tax and considered as income for 2022.

I haven’t heard about dispatchers and the new series yet, however if they’re in a 0462 secondary firefighter retirement PD they will receive supplemental payments.
