It has been written that public service/emergency service personnel are exempt from the RIF.
I’m seeing a lot of posts of Reddit about NPS and USFS park rangers get laid-off, maybe they are not classified in the way I would think?
I have heard but not seen of what you speak. But for discussion sake let’s assume it is fact. How will a lack of personnel in finance and logistics positions affect day to day operations. And let’s look at the number of non-fire personnel in support functions on an incident.
At least for the NPS a park ranger can mean a lot of different things. from LEO, to back country wilderness patrol, to the folks working at the visitor center.
Any update on the Forest Service agreement with NFFE to implement Hazard Pay for Prescribe Fires?
no update, still waiting on OPM to approve it.
The new wildland firefighter pay scale is in the CR that was introduced yesterday. Also includes a daily premium supplement for wildland fires, RX and Severity activity.
GOOD LUCK FEDERAL BROTHERS & SISTERS.
This is long overdue
So stoked it finally went through! After 5 years of writing to my congresspeople, it paid off. Of course, there are many more items to address but it feels really good to get a permanent win. This also helps encourage the newer folks to maybe stick around.
Thank you to the NFFE folks for making this happen and our voices heard. Never took them seriously when I first started but then the lightbulb clicked on. I can’t complain if I’m not willing to change it up and put in the effort. Congratulations to all my federal brothers and sisters!
Congratulations Changlo-Blanco.
So we kinda know what the new GS pay tables will look like but is there any word on what the WG folks will be getting? The language says It says it will be comparable but you never know once the gov gets their grubby mits into it all.
How do the new pay increase change the amount AD hires get paid ? I can’t find any 2025 AD pay scale anywhere
AD Pay Rates - Usually published around April 10th?
