Retired from a wonderful career as a forester and firefighter (mostly wildland). As a Peace Corps Volunteer, trained and led country folks in South America in wildland fire suppression. Worked as a federal hotshot, crew boss, fuels management officer, district and forest fire management officer, forest timber management officer, and district ranger on a high fire workload district. Later served as assistant fire chief and fire chief for a local government fire department in the San Francisco Bay Area. Numerous international assignments providing technical assistance on large wildfires, including PSC1 on the first US IMT sent to Australia. Served 20 years on interagency IMTs as FBAN, PSC2, OSC2, IC2, PSC1. BS in Forest Management; MS in Forest Fire Science and Technology.
