CIMT 15 orders are in for pre-positioning in the North. In brief tomorrow at 12
It looks like the Head Fire is going big now. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out tomorrow since CIMT 10 is on 2 Hour tomorrow.
I am sure several fires or complexes will get teams shortly.
I’m hearing rumblings of Type 1 for the KNF
They are already on 2 hour as Team 15 is staging in Sacramento
Anyone know the status of Team 1(fed) or who is taking over?
They will be down for the rest of the year. No IC and none that want or can take the job. Next year may be interesting.
CIMT 5 orders coming through for the Head Fire.
Yeah…it’s always kinda funky when you have a team on prepo and another on 2hr. In a few instances, I’ve seen the 2hr team pick up a fire and they kept the prepo team in prepo…but usually because the fire was in the other half of the state and the 2hr team happened to be close to the fire.
Update on Team 1(Fed) coming out
Soon.
Team 5 Should be in place by 1800
Nothing new here but to summarize the IMT support in North Ops:
CIIMT Team 5 (type 1)- Happy Camp Complex (KNF)
CIIMT Team 2 (type 1)- SRF (6 rivers) Lightning Complex (includes old Lone Pine fire among others)
CIIMT Team 11 (type 2)- South Fork Complex (on the Shasta-T)
CIIMT Team15 (type 2)- Smith River Complex (6 rivers, far NW CA)
CIIMT Team 10 (type 2)- Deep Fire (Shasta-T)
CalFire Team 1 (type 1) in Hawaii helping with Maui recovery
Side note: CIIMT Team 4 is still in Montana, looks like Southern Team is next up in National Type1 rotation. Three Type 2 teams left in CA. (and yes I know the CalFire teams are available as well)
NWS Monterey has centered their 1km WRF over NW CA: National Weather Service - NWS San Francisco/Monterey Bay Area
Team 6 is also activated, running the LODD in Riverside.
Team 12 to Redmond, OR prepo, but will more than likely pick something up before we get there.
Redmond, WA or Redmond, OR? Interesting…
i thought they were head to OR?
CIIMT 12 is headed to Redmond OR
Sorry guys, I did correct it. First time back on since then, busy day at the station.
