Here’s an interesting track. 210 leaves from CIC and evidently flies a fire deep inside Nevada for a good chunk of time, then returns to base. I think there is a little bit of North Ops inside Nevada up there but not sure if it extends that far, in any case, still a Cal Fire airplane or does that matter?
That area is still northops and they were probably the only available air attack that was in the north.
Blm nod covers a fat chunk of Northern Nevada. 3+ hour response times from ravendale
AA210 with tankers 94 & 95 were working east of county road 34 near the Sheldon antelope refuge.
All CAL FIRE resources can go 50 miles inside NV and OR without CF doty chief ok. Anything further than that requires CF duty chief OK. Even Oates crews Incase you were wondering.
Inmate Fire crews can only travel 25 air miles into Nevada.
It was changed a couple years ago to 50 for all resources.
Keestrokes, You always had it/have it figured… I enjoyed how you kept me informed of working brush fires. You were always on your game. Thank you.
Miss ya chief. But never figured out how to keep things we “fixed” once we moved from under the tree of knowledge. Hope retirement is treating you well… Finally figured out how to lose a bunch of weight, retire…
Cal Fire 6400, specifically 6564, still shows, “not to exceed 25 miles from the California boarder.”
Also CDCR crews are not allowed into OR (Cdcr related issue)
Or Arizona for that matter
As were two SEATs from Chester, who also went up to Klamath Falls to reload. It’s infrequent, but CalFire aircraft do go up into the NW corner of Nevada.
