Aircraft Operations Q&A

Bravo’s were supposed to be designator for a ASM ship. Federal Lead Plane Plus Federal Qualified Air Attack right seator. Lead was always just Lead Pilot. CALFIRE Bravo’s are called Charlie’s. Has Feds changed their ICS and NIMS designations?

True on ASM, I’d just never seen a Kilo before. Don’t know of any changes but I’m not an aviation guy.

Just the BLM has changed their “Bravo” identifiers to Kilos, the change occurred this spring.

The change was made to help show what agency the asset belongs too. It goes along the CAL FIRE number changes on the copters and backup Air Attacks.
