Alert wildfire camera question

Does anyone know why some cameras have areas blocked out? Like on mountain high east camera in the Los Angeles area

I believe it is a privacy agreement with local residents. That’s my only guess. There are many cameras that have blocked out areas.

Thanks. Thought it may gabe been that or government stuff.

You’re correct A904G.

I worked with the HPWREN (UCSD) team from 2004-2010 on the network initial mountain top cameras and sensors. This was the early concept with the cams being used today.

When the Ramona AAB cam was installed back in July 2003, the Contract A/P mechanic feared his boss would see him on the cam not always wearing his work uniform. I was the Fire Captain then, and told him he should wear what has been issued and the cam images would help with the airbase security.

Sure enough the base cam caught some guy stealing fuel at night from the aircraft. The mechanic felt better then and his boss said to disregard the airbase cam images.
