SWA Type 2 - Team 3 (Gesser) will take mgmt today. Yesterday evening’s update at SWCC site:

  • 2200 acres (Previous Acres: 0) - Timber (Grass and Understory).
  • SUPPRESSION strategy (Full Suppression-100% ). Currently 0% contained - anticipating containment 06/21/21.
  • Active fire behavior (Running). Projected Activity: Potential for uphill runs and spotting. Extreme heat and elevated wind speeds predicted.
  • Structures Threatened: 6; Damaged: None; Destroyed: None
  • Resources Assigned: 1 (Helicopter-Type 1); 1 (Helicopter-Type 2); 1 (Helicopter-Type 3); 2 (Crew-Type 1); 1 (Crew-Type 2IA); ); 3 (Engine-Type 6); 6 (Tender-Water (Tactical)); );
  • Critical Resource Needs: Air resources and crews - water tenders.

27807 acres (Previous Acres: 26460) - Short Grass (1 foot).
SUPPRESSION strategy (100% Full Suppression). Currently 15% contained - anticipating containment 07/15/21.
Active fire behavior (Wind Driven Runs). Projected Activity: The potential of thunderstorm passages in the area will increase fire behavior as there are no changes in the current weather pattern of high temps and low relative humidity. Wind directions are becoming more variable with strong outflows from thunderstorm passage.
