New start approximately 3 1/2 miles southwest of Yarnell. Fire is estimated at 10 acres and active. Heavy initial attack response. Aircraft including, Air Attack and helicopters requested. Per Arizona Department of Transportation, SB 89 blocked at MP 273 in the area.

Fire is reported to be 20 acres now. Two Very Large Air Tankers requested along with Lead Plane. Payson shots and #AZForestry hand crew en route. Fire pushing to the top of Yarnell Hill.
Per Yavapai County OEM. Fire resources are currently engaged with a fire outside Yarnell called the White Spar Fire. It is estimated at 20 acres. There is currently no impact to any structures. The town of Yarnell is not currently threatened by this fire and no evacuations are expected at this time. The biggest impact of the fire is on Hwy 89. Hwy 89 remains open at this time but the public is being asked to stay out of the area to allow room for fire personnel. The Hotshot Memorial is closed due to the fire. Fire crews are actively fighting the fire. YCSO is in constant communication with Fire Incident Command and we will share any updates as they are available.
Aircraft grounded due to outflow winds and resources pulled off the line because of lightning. Fire is getting some rain. Estimated at 30 acres.
