Now 35 acres with a hard closure of Hwy 16/Jackson Road from Hwy. 16 and Old Sacramento Road to Jackson Rd and Ione Road.
Tanker 22 and Tanker 102 are now on hold. Fire on both the south side and north side of Hwy. 16.

AA reports 35 acres, tied in to roads on 2 sides.

Just to the right of Moriah Heights Road on google maps you’ll see “Old Highway” follow it up a little bit, take the dirt road to the right and that address is Copper Hills Rd.
Zion gave an accurate desc of fire location.

Left flank has hose all around it per AA.
Dozer on the South side of Hwy 16 working some areas that were of concern.
AA canceled their replacement at 16:00.
Tanker 83 is returning to Columbia loaded per AA.

Copper Fire Update: 10/1/20 9:30 A.M.
Firefighters worked throughout the night to prevent spot fires and gained further containment to 60%. They will continue working on hot spots and smoldering oaks within the interior of the fire. Hwy 16 is now open in both directions.
