Additional water tenders dispatched.
Getting a sketchy radio traffic report that the CHP Comm Center may be evacuating in Rancho Cordova. Isn’t that 4-5 miles from this thing, and sort of upwind?
My intel on this is very 3rd degree, posting only due to the significance if so…
Edit: it could be the “Northern” dispatch offices for Fish and Game and State Parks. That would make better sense for the radio traffic that was heard up here in Tehama County. Closer to fire, but still lots of metro around it.
AEU just dispatched more engines - to the Grant incident, could not get all the numbers, contact IC on CDF Tac 9
The Valley Div. in Rancho should be absolutely no factor for the fire. It is well down in a commercial area and well to the West of the fire. If they are evacuating, it would very unlikely that it would be due to the Grant Fire activity, or at least not really warranted.
Its the NORCom State Parks/Fish & Wildlife Comm Ctr that is being evacuated. All field units switching to nearby State Comm Centers for radio traffic.
getting some air to ground traffic on CDF Air to Gnd 3
Bingo - that would do it. That would explain how their radio traffic made it out on a local repeater up here. Thanks. Heads turn real fast when you hear a dispatcher saying they are immediate evacuating…
Yep. Sounds like the Parks units that can switch to VHF are being taken over by either Sheriff Comm Centers in the counties they are in, or CalFire ECCs.
impressive header coming off this thing, for relatively flat terrain its in
