3 acres moderate to rapid rate of spread. Heavy fuels. Airtankers on order.
A52 (SBD), T72 (HMT), T73 (HMT), H305 and a La County Copter
The fire is now 8-10 acres.
Antonio AA requesting 2 T3 AT’s
Now requesting 2 VLATS out of Fresno.
Made it to the ridge.
10+ acres, moderate ROS. Steep terrain. Rollout
T132 Heavy off Fresno to this incident.
Fuels are Big Cone Doug Fir, manzanita/chaparral (over 10 foot tall), buckbrush, Bay Laurel with lots of dead and down on the ground. Plus side is Glendora Ridge Rd is below the fire, (hope no roll out occurs below that road, that would drop it into the East Fork/Cow) and terrain mellows out to the west near Tanbark. No structure threat for a while, closest being Sunset Ridge radio towers a mile plus south-east and winds are pushing from east to west.
Fire 15 to 20 acres, moderate to low rate of spread. Holding above GRR.
Unified command with LAC and BDC for structure issue in Baldy Village.
IC states tankers are being effective.
Closest Type 2 crews in P-Ville.
45 to 50 acres, 0% containment, rate of spread has slowed. Steep inaccessible canyon. Rock roll out onto GRR below requiring rock-run for debris.
ANF is looking for two additional Water Tenders, So far one is coming from Glendale and unknown where the second will come from.
1st option was ANF WT 327 from Valyermo. Not sure if IC and Angeles figured that one out.
Multiple air tankers are still actively working the incident.
Tankers were requested back from Hemet to the incident as well.
No VLATs (DC10s are the only current VLAT)operate out of Fresno. LATS might, but VLATs don’t.
They ended up getting dispatched as well.
