I gave contact with crew member on a LACoFD Patrol assigned to this incident. They say the burning intensity is lessening now.

a lot of burn history in area…,still tough terrain. will only catch it on ridges: tough going guys, stay safe and hydrated…heads up…

Some of that area burned in 2002 from the Williams Fire, Narrows fire in 1997 ( further up in the wilderness) and the Unknown fire in 1977. There was a station there at East Fork until 2012 when Forest Leadership decided the maintenance costs for upkeep were too high for East Fork and " Engines could drive faster" to there from Rincon…per the Forest Supervisor…

Near vrticsl slopes always are difficult. Same in this case. BUT Night Copters, aggressive Hand Crew work has helped to tame this potential problem fire.
