SOCAL MANAGEMENT TEAM 1 HAS INCIDENT AT 1909
You sure about that?
CA Fed IMT - 1 McGowan
This is google earth MODIS which was available 1500 hours today. My guess is that Cranston has pushed farther to south along hwy 74 towards Ribbonwood and further east towards Palm Springs. I too heard McGowan was assigned.
CIIMT 1
McGowan IC
McGowan IC is incorrect, and is being ran by CIIMT 1 (Thanks Drptrch for the correction). The fire has moved east of 74 with a stretch north east and predominantly east to pal springs. Also looked like they had a finger stretch south. Few more structures burned tonight but no number as to exactly how many. There will be one night ops helicopter available. All other air ops I believe have been discontinued until 0800.
NO. It’s a FED Team
CIIMT ONE.
Cal fire goes by CalFire I-6 and are on STATE fires
Anyone know if the base camp ICP is being set up at the Hemet Lake Campground or are the putting it in an open field near there? Also is 74 open to fire personnel?
Yes the ICP is at the campgrounds and the 74 is open with a valid FD i.d.
It is the field down a bit
I added a synchronized 4-camera time-lapse animation from the first day to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyPcFf770HQ
I also added a second day (yesterday) animation to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iif3Kts9VEs
If my mapping skills are accurate, looks like a no fire history in Idylwild proper. Data from databasin.org

Your assessment is pretty accurate, based on my discussions with local firefighters during the 2013 Mountain Fire close by to the Cranston Fire, they also stated that within the town limits of Idyllwild there was no fire history. Based on the density of fuels in the area I’d believe it.
