Bad location near the toe of the slope
The only good thing is the wind is out of the west, hopefully the wind keeps it from getting established in Plunge Creek.
Not a lot of time to get retardant down before pumpkin time if it gets established.
Its on the hillside but the wind is definitely not in alignment yet.
Looks like a wind shift on a Dunlap acres 30 min loop

They gave it a good effort 8 loads out of San Bernardino and 4 loads from other bases.
Some of the QRF copters were on it a little while ago, now the night AA and copter from the ANF are on it.
The fire is now 505 acres & the immediate structure threat has been mitigated for now, the fire still has a moderate rate of spread but the fire behavior has moderated per Incident Command.
Once the wind swaps around looks like they will have a long day ahead of them…

getting sustained NE winds here in Phoenix headed you way, so watch out.
anyone know the comms for this?
Looks like its getting well established in Plunge Creek, with the wind we are having that could make some interesting spread. Id expect some mountain top evacs soon
Column is visible from southern riverside county.
Did they get an IR flight last night? Does the QRF helco ship do mapping that is open to the public?
