Tanker 79 went out of service mechanical. AA is not requesting a replacement, currently 3 S-2s and 1 type 1 tanker working the fire still. No update as of late.

Ugly remote area, limited water supply and long long travel times.

Bad place to be. Mercury even sits on the surface. Former location of Cinnabar and Mercury mines. Health Warning and Caution signs are posted throughout. Mercury is listed as a Hazardous Material.

Don’t forget the asbestos as well. I do some hunting in the SW side, few ridges over from idria and the entries are limited to 4/year. Wild wild place. Big pigs out there, good elk and deer as well.
