New start near Soledad. Metz Road x Elm Ave., east side of the 101.
Possibly two separate starts in the area.
It’s definitely in alignment with wind. Hopefully they can stop it before it gets in to the heavier fuels.
New start east of Greenfield. You can see the column in the foreground of the camera view
Looks like it gets going fast, but dies out just as quickly. Biggest thing it seems is if ground resources can back up the drops fast enough in that terrain.
Looks like a structure fire. But documents the wind well.
IC reporting 200-300 acres with potential for 1000-2000.
This is a typical early season fire in BEU. Will usually go for a couple thousand acres and will be caught with dozers by the morning. Obviously resources drawdown could change that scenario.
Wind and slope are aligned and it’s moving up into the (mainly grass covered) hills. The Sycamore Flat cam has an unrelated fire in the city of Greenfield in the foreground.
The fire in the foreground is the Apple Fire.
2 very large air tankers (VLATs) requested, per air attack.
Looks like MAFFS2, 4, 8 inbound.
