And the lateral spotting is already an issue!
Watching the cameras when this started roadside very strange that the spot fire also started roadside main fire and spot fire have merged on the camera
It’s a long way from doing such, but could you imagine if this thing pulled a Park Fire on us and burned all the way into its scar? Definitely a lot of potential in the valley, unfortunately…
Finally got some retardant down burned right through it
If you go back an hour on the Flatiron cam it shows a perfect view of it starting roadside
Incident Command has requested an additional 10 engines, 2 dozers and 2 crews
fire is now 40 to 50 acres, has made it to the top of the ridgeline but resources are making good progress on both flanks - per Incident Command
Was watching it from Lookout Point on the Skyway. As of about 17:30 it was looking really good. It slopped over the top of Doe Mill Ridge, but the heavy tankers had it painted in pretty well, and hand crews, dozers, and heavy helos made good hay on the flanks. First C-130 drops in Butte County(?)
