CA-BTU-Centerville??

Curious if the alert cam picked this up via AI? Flatiron Cam zeroed in on the fire moments after it started?

Incredible how fast it fixed on the start.

Here’s the spot lighting off - seems a bit odd given that the column seems to be leaning more up hill. Sure would have been nice to have these kind of pics back in my investigation days :face_with_monocle:

Yes AI had it instantly (the Alert Ops users are the human reviewers to the AI). And I agree, that spot is off the road, and wasn’t under much of the smoke column at all. Prevention might get back in time for holiday BBQ with these views.

For all the hype of AI/early detection, not sure if a minute or two makes much difference on a fire like this one. I’m thinking having ops-minded folks watching the cameras and advising the IC on what their fire is doing may be a lot more useful application of the tech. When the robots can do that, I’ll be more of a believer.

The AI is political tool. It makes it seem like technology is being more heavily utilized. Not seeing the pay off yet on this heavily touted “resource”. When it can produce algorithms that can prompt auto augmentation and be relatively accurate, that would be helpful.
