We lose a lot of homes during wind-driven, early-season fires in the grasslands of South Butte County. We tend to focus on mitigation in the foothill areas with heavier fuels, but prior to the Camp Fire, we’d probably historically lost more homes in Palermo, Honcut, and outskirts of Oroville than we had in the brush and timber.
