Is there still no retardant allowed on the Forest or Creek Drainage? Water from Copters can take the heat out short term but in these conditions it drys out quickly. I have played that game in the middle Trinity drainage for days as well.
Colby Mtn webcam and IR show fire well-established onto the top of the Mill Creek Rim, in Deer Creek drainage.
Anyone have link to iap for today ?
Thank you !
Nationally the Federal IMT’s are pretty busy. There is only 1 Federal California Team available as of this morning. So with rotating Teams to all the major fires in the western states, there may not be much available on the Federal side of the house.

For those who don’t know fire data available at the above link, follow the paths for fires you are interested in. IAP, map & etc.
Edit, It has been brought to my attention that the IAP is not on this server for Cal Fire. On further investigation it appears as though it’s coded and not accessible. Sorry for any confusion and I’ll go back to my cave.
Cal Fire’s latest mapping shows a major firing operation off of roads and dozer lines (black) adjacent to Mill Creek Resort and cabin area, and along Highway 172 toward Childs Meadows. 2021 Dixie Fire burn in blue. - 8/6/2024 am.

To put it mildly this is going to be highly interesting to some & quite scary to others - as we watch these latest developments unfold. T’s & P’s to everyone trying to stay safe & effective out there. Looking like its grabbing another gear for another push based the heat signature growing now. No surprise…
Interesting. According to CAL FIRE Handbook 7795, these are the times IAP and other Intel data should be posted to the ftp site:
Approval to post Information and Intelligence:
The Incident Commander (IC) will approve all incident information and
intelligence before it is posted to the FTP site. The data layer and map products
must agree with the assets and infrastructure threatened as detailed in the ICS209.
When to initiate:
Whenever the following exists:
All incidents where an ICS-209 has been posted to FAMWEB
Major loss of life/property.
Potential to burn/continue for more than 48 hours.
A Major Incident Management Team is assigned to the incident
State or National level of attention.
At the direction of the CAL FIRE Executive Office, Region Chief, or Unit Chief.
Mineral Group is pulling all resources off Hwy 172 back to DP 20 or Childs Meadow per Branch.
Pulling resources off 172 due to fire activity
Well that sounds grim for holding the burn operation.
The weather today was pretty hopeless to be fair
On the 15 minute loop Is the column showing rotation on Morgan Summit cam
Contingency resources working Div W are being pulled due to what AA is seeing. They will be impacted.
Especially with poor humidity recovery tonight and more of the same conditions tomorrow.
