From NBC and Cal Fire…The Park Fire in Butte and Tehama counties grew to more than 164,000 acres by early Friday morning, with no containment, and had destroyed 134 structures, according to Cal Fire.

Weather Concerns:
A very cool and moist day on tap for the fire area as cooler and more moist air filters across the region. Max temperatures across the fire area will range in the upper 70s to lower 80s. About a 10-15 degree drop from the previous day. Relative humidity will also be higher ranging from 25-35%, a rise of about 10-20% from the previous day. Winds will be slightly lighter as well, generally out of the South ranging from 6-10 mph with gusts to 15-18 mph during the afternoon. These favorable conditions are only expected to last today before weather gradually trends back to a warmer and drier state on Sunday and through early next week.

Morning report around 0800…

The fire is actively burning in heavy, receptive fuel beds. This allows the fire to expand rapidly. Warm, windy, and dry conditions will increase risk of extreme fire activity, similar to what the fire has done previously. There will be higher temperatures and lower humidities today.
